Surf's Up

Sherkston Shores is conveniently located along the shores of Lake Erie - specifically Pleasant Beach and Wyldewood Beach - making it the perfect location for Great Lakes surfing and stand-up paddle boarding. Both beaches have very limited street parking, most being a far walk away from the beach entrance. Staying at Sherkston will give you direct beach access to both locations via our golf cart (no cars are allowed on the beach).

You can find Great Lakes surfing reports via the Great Lakes Surf Radar and the water quality reports via Niagara Beach Water Testing.

Our golf cart is also equipped with surfboard racks for easy transport to and from the beach or quarry.

While our surfboards are not included in your rental, you are welcome to use the extra racks for your own board storage. Feel free to use our boogie board and skim boards.

PLEASE NOTE: All of the Sherkston Shores beaches are swim at own risk and thus are not monitored by lifeguards. The pools on the otherhand are always monitored by skilled lifeguards during regular operational hours. During peak months of summer, Sherkston will have lifeguards with limited hours posted at the Quarry Beach. They recommend all swimmers have basic swimming skills. Keep young children and inexperienced swimmers in view and within arm's reach at all times when they are in the water. Never underestimate the power of the current. Swimmers or waders of Lake Erie can be swept away, particularly if non-swimmers or weak swimmers get caught by the current.
